Artistic Research

My work explores the relationships between point, circle, surface and space. Through repetition, texture and material experimentation, I investigate how elementary forms can structure a composition and alter our perception of what lies within and beyond them.

In DOTS (2023–2024), thousands of interwoven points create dynamic fields in which colour, rhythm and texture transform the surface. In ELLIPSE, I explore the physical presence of painting through relief, texture and the emergence of form from the surface. My ongoing research, CERCLE, POINT, focuses on the relationships between figure and ground, presence and absence, interior and exterior.

Artistic Process

My process begins with observation. I travel with a camera, collecting images and details from the landscapes around me. Back in the studio, these observations become material to transform through painting and other media.

Colour and material are essential to this process. I often work with a restricted palette, using a maximum of three tones in a painting. Ultramarine blue, green and red recur in my work, interacting through contrast, rhythm and texture.

I am interested in abstraction as an open space for perception and interpretation. Rather than describing a place or fixing an image, I seek to transform what I observe into forms that can exist beyond their original reference, allowing each viewer to establish their own relationship with the work.
